The Handshake System, by Design Innsæit

Every handshake, saved both ways.

One scan puts you in their phone, spelled right, with your photo and your buttons. One tap sends their number back to you, into a contacts list that is always yours. Designed in your brand, with printed codes you never reprint.

You, savedIn their contacts with your photo, title and buttons.

Them, collectedTheir number, back to you, tagged with where you met.

The problem

Most exchanges only go one way.

You meet forty people at a workshop, an exhibition or a launch. A week later you have six numbers and a pile of photos of visiting cards. The other thirty-four conversations are gone.

Cards run out

Two hundred printed, gone by the second day. The best conversation happens after the last one.

Photos of cards

Saved to the camera roll, never to contacts. Nobody goes back to type them in.

Saved as ""a vague nickname

Your name spelled wrong, no photo, nothing they can search for three months later.

They have you. You don't have them.

The exchange only went one way, so the follow-up depends on them remembering.

Four small failures, one result: the relationship ends in someone's photo gallery. The fix is one scan that works in both directions.

How it works

One scan. Four things happen.

No app to install, on either side. It works from the phone camera on any Android or iPhone.

1

They scan your code

On your visiting card, a standee, a banner, your packaging, an NFC tag or the screen at the end of your talk. A code never runs out.

They do it
2

You are saved, correctly

Your card opens in your colours. One tap saves your name, number, email, website and photo straight into their contacts.

One tap
3

They share their contact back

Two taps on Android, a short form everywhere else. Your own consent note sits under the form, word for word.

They choose to
4

The list comes to you

Every contact lands in your private list. You get an 8 pm roundup on the days people share, and your full list every Monday.

Automatic

Nothing is ever sent for you.

Every WhatsApp you send to a new contact is sent by you, from your own phone, when you press send. The system collects and reminds. It never messages anyone in your name.

Your contacts

Every contact, kept in one place.

Collecting numbers is the easy part. Keeping them is where most people lose. Everyone who shares their details lands in one list that belongs to you, and that list comes to your inbox before you have to go looking for it.

Always

The full list, on one private link

Every contact from every card, standee and event, newest first. Search by name, phone or email. Download it for Excel, or save everyone into your phone in one go.

8 pm, daily

Who shared today

On any day someone shares their details, an evening email tells you how many, with each name, number and email. Quiet days send nothing.

Every Monday

The week, plus a full backup

Everyone who shared that week, with your complete list attached as a spreadsheet. A fresh copy of every contact reaches your inbox each Monday, even if you never open the list.

As it happens

An alert for each new contact

Want to know the moment someone shares? Keep the instant alert on. On a busy stall day, switch it off and keep the 8 pm roundup.

Your contacts never live only inside our system. They are in your inbox, in your Excel file and in your phone.

What you get

Made by a brand studio, so it looks like you.

Most digital cards look like the app that made them. Yours is designed as part of your brand: your colours, your typeface, your buttons, your voice. We set it up and run it, so you never touch a dashboard unless you want to.

Your digital card

One page that opens the moment someone scans. It loads fast on crowded event wifi and keeps working even when the network is poor.

  • Save contact, WhatsApp, call, email and your social links
  • Buttons for your catalogue, booking page, offer or review page
  • Your next workshop or event, which removes itself once it is over

Their contact, back to you

Visitors can share their name, number and email with you in a couple of taps. You see who shared, when, and from which card.

Your contacts list

One private list of everyone who shared, with an 8 pm roundup and a Monday backup in your inbox. See how the list works.

Printed codes you never reprint

Codes for standees, banners, table tents and packaging. Each one is permanent, but where it leads is not. Point last month's standee at this month's offer, your catalogue or your review page, without printing anything again. Every code counts its scans.

Your own web address

Your card can live at an address like card.yourbrand.in, under your name instead of ours.

Who it is for

Built for people who meet people.

A good fit

  • Founders and practitioners who meet clients face to face: at workshops, exhibitions, trade fairs, talks and launches
  • Studios, clinics and consultants whose next client usually comes from the last room they were in
  • Teams who staff a stall and need every visitor counted, not just the ones who took a card
  • Brands that care how they look inside someone else's phone

Probably not for you

  • You need a card printed by tomorrow. We design it properly, and that takes days, not hours
  • You want a full sales CRM with pipelines and deal stages
  • You want software that messages people automatically. This never will

Fair questions

What you are probably wondering.

I already have visiting cards. Why do I need this?

Keep them. We put the same code on the back. Paper gets you remembered tonight. The code gets you saved properly, and it is the only part that brings their number back to you.

My clients are not very techy. Will they manage?

There is no app. They open the phone camera, tap the link and tap Save contact. If someone can open a link on WhatsApp, they can do this.

Isn't this the same as a cheap NFC card?

Those give you a link page in someone else's template. This is designed as part of your brand, collects contacts back to you, lets your printed codes change destination, and sends you your list every week. An NFC tag can be one more way to open it.

Will it send messages to people for me?

No. Nothing goes out in your name unless you press send yourself. That is a design decision, and it protects your reputation and your WhatsApp number.

What happens if I stop paying for it?

Your card shows a calm holding page with your name and phone number, so anything you printed still leads somewhere useful. Nobody ever sees an error. The contacts you collected are yours to download, before and after.

Who can see the contacts people share?

You, and the studio that runs it for you. The card page carries no ads and no tracking scripts, and visitor network addresses are scrambled before anything is stored.

What does it cost?

It depends on how many people need a card, how many printed pieces you need, and whether you want your own web address. It is a one-time setup, then a yearly care plan that keeps it running.

Send us an email and you will have written options with prices within two working days.

Timing

Event coming up? Write two weeks before it.

Two weeks gives us time to design the card properly and gives your printer time to deliver. This is how the fortnight usually runs.

Day 0

You email us

Your business, where you meet people, your event date.

Day 2

Options in writing

What you get at each level, with prices.

Day 7

Card goes live

Print files for your codes go to your printer.

Day 14

Your event

Every guest leaves with you saved.

Printing time depends on your printer and the finish you choose. If your event is closer than two weeks, say so in your email and we will tell you plainly what is possible.

Start here

Tell us where you meet people.

One email is enough to start. We reply within one working day, usually with a couple of questions about how your clients find you.

Write to Vineeth
Put these in your email
  1. Your business name and what you do
  2. Where you usually meet new clients
  3. Your next event and its date
  4. How many people need a card

The email button fills these in for you. It goes to Vineeth, founder of Design Innsæit, who reads every one himself.
